Color Correction in
Adobe Premiere Pro CS3

Color correction is a necessity for event videographers.
Matching cameras, fixing incorrect white balance, giving videos
that certain special look are just some of the awesome elements
available with Premiere’s powerful color correcting tools.

Premiere Pro CS3 includes many different effects that will let you
perform primary and secondary color correction on your clips:
Fast Color Corrector, Three-Way Color Corrector, and Color Match
are just some of them. In less than an hour, Luisa will teach you
how to apply these powerful effects to your videos!


Compositing in Photoshop CS3

The art of compositing is one that will take your videos to a whole new level.
Compositing is used in every single video production out there, from
simple text and graphics to slick compositions that will totally set
your work apart. Compositing starts with simple masking and selection.
Luisa will take you through her secrets to better selection and
better layer masks, plus learn how easily you can use your composites
in Premiere Pro and After Effects. Compositing is appropriate for
Photoshop novices and experts. Luisa will show you just
how phenomenal your productions can be with quality compositing.


3D in After Effects CS3
(5:00pm - 6:00pm)


Lights! Cameras! Action! While Adobe’s After Effects is a very
complex and powerful application, it can easily be used for
projects from simple effects and static titles to amazing
motion graphics. Sit with Luisa and learn some of the
surprisingly simple secrets to maximizing your 3D composites
in After Effects.  Text, video, pictures, lights and cameras
are the subject of this not-to-be-missed class.

Top Ten Tricks for getting more out of FCP

This workshop is designed to help develop and improve your Final Cut Pro skills.
We’ll go beyond the basic cut to explore deeper into advanced features within
the Final Cut interface. This session will focus on some of the most common
issues and challenges that arise with FCP editors. The goal of the
workshop is to help the attendees understand how to solve some of the
frequent problems that come up with FCP editors. This workshop will
be a Final Cut Pro-centered workshop, relying on the
FCP features to help solve these challenges.

After this Workshop the attendee will have learned:

How to create effects with Mattes with Blurs
Nesting sequences to create compound effects
How to create dynamic Travel Mattes
Using compound effects to create complex motion effects
How to animate a Photoshop sequence in FCP

Final Cut Studio “Round Trip

This is a workshop dedicated to unlocking the power of
Final Cut Studio 2 (FCS 2) integrated programs. Using what Apple
calls “Round Trips” from within Final Cut to take advantage of a full suite
of applications, to improve the look and sound of your Final Cut project.
The workshop will demonstrate how to become a more efficient editor
by utilizing round trips from within Final Cut to Soundtracks, Color, Motion,
and LiveType and then back into Final Cut. This is a must-attend for anyone
editing with Final Cut Pro who is unfamiliar with, or new at, using these programs.

Upon completion of this Workshop an attendee will have learned:

How to export an audio file into Soundtracks and import it back into FCP
The basic workflow of Soundtracks and audio sweetening capabilities
How to create Soundtracks scripts to use with FCP
How to create a LiveType project and import back into FCP
How to dynamically change and update a LiveType project for FCP

it needs to be exported to DVD, to the web or onto another playback device.
This workshop is a must for video editors who haven’t yet tapped into the power
of Apple’s Compressor and DVD Studio Pro. This workshop will detail how
to best export your project out of Final Cut Pro and into Compressor.

You’ll also learn how to create custom settings for any Compressor project
and how using Compressor can be the best choice for your video project.
This workshop will also showcase how to build great looking DVDs and menus.
Todd will share his knowledge of how to make custom templates, menus,
and interactive slideshows, all with the power of DVD Studio Pro. Todd will also
demonstrate the advanced features of DVDSP and how to use them for
various project types. He will also cover maximizing the amount of video, audio,
and multimedia that can be put on one DVD. There are a lot of pitfalls along
the way in creating a great and dynamic DVD. This workshop aims to
help the attendee avoid those and improve their workflow.

Basic strategies for configuring video data rate(s)
and files size for web, DVD, and other formats
